Price list and deposit overview
Clear prices, no surprises: the deposit for each insurance level, and the fees that can apply during or after your rental.
1 – Deposit
A deposit is taken when you pick up the car. The amount depends on the insurance you choose, plus a 1,000 NOK travel deposit on every booking for ferry, toll and parking costs. The deposit is held as security for any damage to the car during the rental.
2 – Additional fees
These may apply during or after the rental, depending on the situation or the services you need. They come in addition to any fines, repair costs or services, and are deducted from the deposit or charged separately.

3 – Damage fees (cars)
Standard fees for the most common types of damage, so the settlement is transparent and quick. For damage not listed, Blue Car Rental sets the repair cost from external references such as parts prices, mechanic quotes, insurance evaluations or comparable cases. Labour is charged separately, depending on the repair.

* A scratch deep enough to show bare metal counts as a large scratch, whatever its length. These fees may be deducted from your deposit or charged separately.
4 – Who can rent
- The driver must be at least 19 years old on the day of pick-up.
- A physical, unrestricted driving licence, held for at least one year and equivalent to a European category B licence. Digital licences are accepted only from Norway.
- A licence that does not use the Latin alphabet must come with an international driving permit.
- If any driver is under 26, the Young Driver insurance is the only insurance option.
- The rental and the deposit are paid with the same payment card, which must stay valid during the rental.
5 – Cancellation
Cancelling within 24 hours of booking is free. After that, the fee depends on how long before the rental starts you cancel, and is at least 1,500 NOK:

Cancel by e-mail to rent@bluecarrental.no. The toll-road flat fee is always refunded. With the Late Cancel Insurance, other rules apply.
